This was interesting.

However, let’s not forget that the devil/demonic spirits exist, and can also be the source of intrusive thoughts and ideas.

This is why we are to “take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5)

The brain while wildly intricate and complex, is also very impressionable

To be honest after I think about dark things I start to forbid it. Most times I'm not only thinking about me going through those terrible imaginations in my mind... it's also projected towards the people around me. I would often wonder if I'm evil at heart because I know that is not what I truly want. This gave me a lovely idea for a piece. 🙌 Wonderful writing as always 💞

Gosh this is so relatable. and it doesn't get any easier for me, because exactly as you said, the more you try to avoid thinking about it, the more it intensifies.

i guess I haven't let mine play because I can't afford to have such life-threatening thoughts.

lovely work as always.

This scene taunts me. I don’t even know what to say.

An exceptional piece of writing. I was especially drawn to your points regarding "ego-dystonic"—splendidly put, and I find myself entirely in agreement.

I find it fascinating how we are a product of billions of years of evolution, biological machines with complexity, systems and interconnections we do not fully understand. I wonder if intrusive thoughts serves or served some role in our mind's, or is it a bug in that was copied from an early ancestor that survived into all of modern humans.
